What you eat, don’t make me….

Individualism is the moral stance, political philosophy, ideology, or social outlook that stresses “the moral worth of the individual”. Individualists promote the exercise of one’s goals and desires and so independence and self-reliance while opposing most external interference upon one’s own interests, whether by society, family or any other group or institution. -Wikipedia

If I spent the night at your pad and brought my own Disney sheets, would you be able to sleep at night? Would you be uncomfortable knowing that I’m laying on a bed covered by the Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana? … Sounds immature. How many Muslims do you see or hear bashing Christians for waking up to bacon and eggs in the morning? (This is coming to me as I type so pardon the seeming lack of direction) How many people have dissed Pepsi drinkers for not relying on Coke or Sprite to quench their thirst?

Although most parents stress the importance of being yourself to their children, self expression has become an open invitation for insults, prejudgments, and the easiest way to outlaw an individual. It’s as if everyone was baked from the same mold and anyone who attempts to break the mold is performing an act of shape-shifting. The day when I am forced to relive my elementary years, where I had no choice but to wear a uniform, will be the day I become a nudist. Why does one mans wardrobe threaten the masculinity of the next? If someone walks past in a 511 does that reduce the leg room in a 501?
